Walking in A Winter Wonderland: ASMS Winter Formal

By Ben Cogar

Cardi B, chocolate milk, and lasting memories. What do all of these have in common? That they all make the ASMS Winter Formal the best!

When you have the best SGA on the planet, school dances are amazing! The venue (the University of South Alabama’s Student Center) was all decked out in the best decorations to truly make a winter wonderland. Thanks to the student-made snowflakes, lights on the stairs, and a wreath of Christmas lights, the Winter Formal was set and ready to be rocked by the student body of ASMS. An overall theme of soft blue and white gave the dance a certain touch of elegance and added to the overall feel of winter.

Having both the inside (where the dance was located), and the outside was perfect when you wanted to “get lit”, or wanted to relax and cool off. There was a plethora of picture-taking spots, as well as lots of seating to rest any tired feet before getting up to dance again.

The music was good too, even after a rough start, the song list came together and the dance floor never ceased to hold people on it. Dancing was wild and the people were even wilder. Once everyone showed up there was hardly any room left on the dance floor.

Let us not forget to mention the amazing food. The chocolate-covered strawberries were by far my favorite, and the chicken was a crowd favorite (considering the fact they ran out in about twenty minutes). Fresh fruit, chips, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels and, of course, candy were also on the line of delicacies served at Winter Formal.

Thank you to all of the parents and ASMS faculty who chaperoned, and a huge thank you to the SGA and the Winter Formal committee. Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you at the next Winter Formal!
